Problem with Retropi Image?

Re

I've seen the video of The Geek Freaks (linked below, in the description, is a quick guide), in short, it's about the Retropi. I have the problem that I do not get the image he recommends on the SD card and I do not know how to handle .torrent files.

In addition, for unknown reasons, the SD card reader of my Windows notebook has failed and only goes from my Ubuntu notebook.

Alternatively, I have already thought of downloading the "content" of the file and then to pull on the SD card. I just do not know if this is so easy.

Thank you in advance and happy holidays!

No, unfortunately it does not work that way (dragging the content to the SD card).

There are various programs on the Internet (including freeware) to convert .torrent files. You then have to (if you are dealing with an .img file) with the help of an appropriate program (know for Windows: Win32DiskImager, Etcher) write on the card.

OK thanks. Etcher is also a Linux version, because I get the file on the SD card. I will write again if there's something else.

A .torrent file is a file that you need to open with a BitTorrent client. This then downloads the actual image via the BitTorrent network. This may take longer, depending on which and how many clients are online in the network and have this file.

Then you can then write the image file with dd on the SD card.
