Take a look at your screen settings! A driver update has already changed this for me! If nothing works and this problem is penetratingly unbearable, I would reset the computer!
The thing is, I can't even change the brightness using the respective buttons and the part has also disappeared in the settings.

Got it now. The update installed a new screen driver that somehow couldn't change the brightness. I have the old one again.
