Why are the speakers of my laptop crackling when playing music?

The problem is a crackling / crackling noise of my laptop speakers and has existed since I bought the laptop (https://www.notebooksbilliger.de/notebooks/lenovo+notebooks/lenovo+yoga+500/lenovo+yoga+530+14arr+81h9003dge) for Christmas. Crackling occurs only when playing music (such as through Spotify or Youtube) and not with other sources (for example, Netflix other Youtube videos). All the drivers that I find in Device Manager / "Audio, Video and Game Controllers" and / or "Audio Inputs and Outputs" seem to be up to date. The problem occurs whether I use headphones or not, but not (!) When I used a Bluetooth speaker. The deactivation of Dolby Atmos unfortunately causes nothing.

Maybe someone has experience with it? LG

Ca

Only with music?

Probably controls.

Either the volume is too high, or the song is already overdriven in the recording (for example, in the case of radio music).

This is especially noticeable on bass-poor laptop speakers.

Na

Yes only with music.

Well, it can't be the music itself, it's mainly about Spotify. Volume too high is actually out of the question.

Bassarm… Well, just laptop speakers, which are not made for bass, that could be it… On the other hand it's the same with my stink normal in-ear headphones (which I then simply plug in).

But can they be that bad? Sometimes there are real little misfires / pauses in the middle of the song.

Wi

I would connect a pair of active speakers for a PC and do a listening test.

Na

Made, everything sounds like it should. But what do we conclude from this?

Ca

Is the problem with this song?

Na

No, everything sounds normal.

Ca

Then it is the case:

Song is already overdriven in the recording (for example, in the case of radio music)

You're probably trying to play current radio hits, which mostly consist of highly controlled square waves, or heavily bass-heavy music.

These fall under the category "Loudness War" (google it! ^^) and your speakers have a problem with that.

The song I linked has been produced correctly and does not fall under Loudness War.

If the speakers are bass weak, these defects in the recording are particularly noticeable because the missing bass no longer covers them.

In unfavorable cases, the sound card has a problem with highly controlled square wave signals or strong bass.

You only have the following options:

Turn down the volume until it stops (at 50% it should come)
New sound card (difficult for the laptop). So are USB flash drive sound cards.
Listen to other music that does not fall into the Loudness-War category.

The speakers themselves are innocent because you have the problem with headphones as well. The distortion already occurs in the sound card.

Na

Seems to be a kind of Heisenbug. From Spotify the first 30s of Take on Me played and it was clearly the known noise to hear. Have a look then if it's the same with Youtube (thought maybe hangs with the sound quality zsm., And suddenly it went on both sources again). Well, but experience has shown that this is not a permanent condition

Ca

Probably the Spotify version is louder than that of Youtube?

What you can try: Switch the sample rate to 44100Hz in the sound card options. Then restart the browser. Play Spotify now flawless?

Na

The sample rate is fixed at 48khz and can't be changed (I see that this is theoretically possible, but the box is grayed out, can't be clicked, etc.). : /

Ca

Is the sound driver installed at all? : - /

If 48kHz is the only option available, then this might be a very inferior sound card.

I would buy such a USB sound card.

Wi

Maybe the laptop speakers have a defect. How old is the tow top, in terms of warranty and warranty.
