I'm currently using a Lenovo laptop for homeschooling and I often get upset about my webcam quality because it's so bad. I have an integrated webcam and I know that I don't have that many options. At OBS I could change the webcam quality as I wanted. But when I went to a camera program the quality was bad again. Couldn't you control the webcam in the settings or something?
Just buy a better webcam.
I got this laptop for Christmas and I don't want to spend money straight away just for a webcam
Thanks, but I've seen that before
If you have an Android smartphone with a good camera (it is unlikely to be worse…), you can use it as a webcam with the help of DroidCam. It's easier than somehow getting something good out of a bad camera.
What's so bad about that, you're not doing a YouTube podcast, just homeschooling. It doesn't matter whether you're there in poor quality. Some would be happy if the quality sucks and they are not so easy to recognize.
I can't quite follow you.
How do you know if your webcam is bad?
How did you test that?
What exactly is wrong with that?
If your webcam takes a bad picture, this can only be noticed by the other participants during online lessons via Skype, Teams etc. - Not you.
First I set my camera to OBS. I found this quality nice but when I wanted to see for myself on the preinstalled camera program whether it works there, the quality was bad again. Therefore I wanted to ask if there's a setting with which an integrated webcam can be set to a good quality on all programs
I don't know what you mean by beautiful picture quality.
For a satisfactory picture, the right lighting should of course be used first, which is sufficiently bright and distributes the light fairly evenly. - Backlighting is of course to be avoided.
The "Camera" app (start menu) reproduces what the camera records. - Unfortunately, this app has no correction options for brightness, contrast and color.
I don't know of any better free webcam programs.
My webcam is from Logitech. The software was included in the price.
Another webcam can't be operated with it
