So I've bought a monitor that has 144 Hz, 1ms response time and Full HD. I have connected it to my laptop but somehow it is shown that only 60Hz are on the monitor and if I want to set it higher, it says that I have no authorization to do so. In addition, the problem is that the picture looks mega "cheap" on the monitor (as if it were only 480P or so), I can do something about it? Thank you in advance!
P.s The monitor + laptop are connected via HDMI.

Thought that your HDMI can't 144Hz?
There are different HDMI versions, and only the newest, which are hardly installed anywhere, certainly not in laptops if they were not very expensive just do not have the necessary HDMI to reach 144Hz.
Have you already installed all the drivers the monitor needs?
How modern is your laptop
Just connected the monitor directly. The laptop is an Acer Predator Helios 300
Okay and what about the bad resolution, why is that?
