I just wanted to know how to disable my Win10 Laptop Internet / W-LAN. That means I can't connect to any computer with any Wi-Fi network. I have already tried in Device Manager under network adapter, all drivers that had something to do with "wireless network" to uninstall. The result: I had a red cross at the bottom right of the W-LAN icon and I could not connect anymore. Actually, what I wanted, but after a restart everything was back to normal.
A connection via LAN (cable) should still be possible without problems.
Anyone an idea?
If you uninstall the drivers, then Windows still "finds" your device at the next reboot and automatically installs a standard driver for it.
Disable in the network settings just the wireless adapter, then you have what you want…
Look in the BIOS if you can disable the WLAN adapter.
If you just want "no Wi-Fi", then disable the adapter in the adapter settings (Windows + R "ncpa.cpl")
Uninstalling the Wireless Driver… If you deactivate this only in the Device Manager, it pulls itself back on reboot… Also better that way, because who wants to do that too?
The driver is usually found where all your programs are listed on Settings → Manage / Uninstall Programs
It worked.
Wow, then you connect another and it goes again. But for yourself, of course, it's enough to silence the Wi-Fi.
Yes, of course… But I think the FS is about that his wireless adapter always interfere with it and establishes a connection, which is then preferably used in front of the cable connection… And he prevents that…
That's right, that's enough.
Great answer - here the same as "typed" alternative.
Open the powershell in W10.
Command: Get-NetAdapter.
Here you get a list displayed - the column: name is important here.
You can now switch the network card on and off with the commands: Enable-NetAdapter Name and Disable-NetAdapter Name. That you can z.b. Run by script automatically at Windows start.
