I would say the cable is wrong.

It can't be due to the cable, since it worked on the defective screen. Half of the screen was black because my little sister had boxed against it. The other half of the screen was perfectly normal and everything was sharp. Now I have connected a new display, all cables are seated, but the picture now looks like this.
