Which laptop for image and video editing?

I'm currently looking for a new laptop and I'm just overwhelmed with the selection.

My requirements are that I can handle it so well pictures and videos and also it should be as small and light as possible because I would like to take the thing on trips.

Frankly, I'm not really good with laptops to know which one is best for me.

I'm looking at some MacBooks right now. So far I have always been Windows users.

I have to look at the price too. I would be ready to spend the 1000 but if I look at those expensive 1500 MacBooks it just hurts me too much.
