Hard drive macbook? Urgently

My MacBook Pro has been upgraded to the new operating system by a professional, as it always turned off in the middle when turned on. To my question:
1. I have two hard drives and I believe that only one hard drive has been updated (if it is that way at all, or is it the case that the hard drive has nothing to do with the upgrade?) And I would like to get it from hard drive A. To the hard disk B (because on B are all my data) change, but I'm afraid that I come thus again to my old problem and my laptop again not concerned.
So can I safely switch from hard drive A to hard drive B?
2. Is it important to enable my firewall on the MacBook Pro or should I rather leave it, as new problems could arise?

Thank you for your response! However, that was not my question. I already have two.

Want to transfer macOS from disk A to B? So that only B is used?

In a software update, the current software is installed / copied to the hard disk, which has no direct influence on the hard disks in the system or on the main hard disk, it is not an update of the hard disk itself but more like an update of a program on the hard disk.

Can you see the other one through the disk utility? Maybe you have only one, because in the MacBooks is usually only one installed.

It may be that the professional has deleted the whole hard disk once

To the Firewall: That is in MacOS by default disabled, which you can leave also disabled, the only disadvantage (at the same time however also advantage and purpose) can occur that certain programs get no Internet access when it is on.

Thank you for your helpful answer, I really appreciate that!
I got it from my father as a present and the expert then added an extra. So there are two and up
"About these Mac> hard drives" I also see two hard drives:
1. Where I'm in now (hard drive A)
2. The hard drive I want to plug in (HDD B)

So now I can go to Disk B without worrying about my MacBook spinning again on reboot?
:)

I do not want to re-download anything, just from A to B, without any problem later.

It does not update hard disks, but the operating system. And that's usually on one and not all existing hard drives.

What exactly you mean by switching from A to B is not clear.

When it comes to using files and programs on the second disk: no problem.

Firewall is mandatory if you go with his computer to the Internet.

Thank you for your helpful answer!
I want to go to disk B because there's more data. But now I'm afraid that B is the old operating system (which would cause problems again) and that as soon as I leave A, my MacBook will spin again.

Again, it is not really clear what you mean by "switch to B" or "I want to go to disk B".

You probably just want to open files and programs that are stored there. Right? Then do that. Double-click and it's good. Your computer does not change the operating system for this. Could not he, because on B is certainly not one. This is not necessary either.
