I really need your help.
On my Windows 10 laptop I only see a blue screen with the request to enter a recovery key.
My mother clicked something?
So my question: Where can I find this key or how can I bypass the system without losing my data on the laptop?
I ask for help!
Here I would call Microsoft, they screwed up and should fix it. After all, Win costs a lot of hard-earned money.
If MS doesn't have that under control, I would boot from a Linux Mint USB pen and use the file manager to save all important data to a USB disk. If things don't get better with Win, the better equipped Mint can be installed directly from the pen free of charge. A virus scanner or key is not required for Linux. YouTube shows how the process is.
Windows 10 will probably ask you to enter the recovery key for BitLocker encryption. This is displayed when a device is encrypted with BitLocker and an event requires the entry of the recovery key. Which events these can be and where the recovery key could possibly be found, e.g. Here:
https://support.microsoft.com/...covery-key
When BitLocker was set up on the device, a password for BitLocker was also set and BitLocker returned a matching recovery key. The password and the recovery key must then be written down and kept safe. Only then can the BitLocker encryption be canceled again. Otherwise, that's it with the data.
