Microphone not working (Windows 10)?

I have a problem with my microphone jack on my laptop. When I plug in a microphone, this is recognized, but does not record any sound. The same thing happens with the internal mic.

If I plug in an external studio microphone (via USB, not via jack) then this works perfectly. Only the 3.5mm jack is dead. It is not because of the microphone, since I have already tried several microphones. On the second laptop, they work without problems…

Devices are all activated and, as said, are also recognized. Only the level does not swing when speaking. Data protection settings on Windows 10 all fit, that's not why.

Did someone happen to have the same problem and a proposed solution for me? I would be very grateful for that because I just can't get any further at the moment.

Which mic do you want to connect.

Ge

I have several Lavalier microphones that I have already tried. I've also tried a gaming headset, all without success…

The audio output via the second socket works perfectly on the headset, only the microphone remains silent.

Is a bit older 😅 but in the last post there's a solution.

Did you ever make the driver new?

Ge

I have already landed on the contribution during my research. Unfortunately, that didn't help me. Drivers should all be up to date, so I took another look at: /

The problem is when Windows takes the wrong driver. You really have to take the one you really need and not the one that Win10 chose. The same problem sometimes occurs with the Intel Lan adapter. 😅 Maybe that's because? 🤔🙂

Ge

Quite possible, but how do I know which driver I need for this? I've been working on the problem for almost 2 hours, but unfortunately I haven't had any success so far: / I don't know why it suddenly doesn't work anymore, until a few days ago everything went as it should.

I always take Hhomework info for something like that.

I think it is also in the device manager. 😅🙈

Ge

So according to the device manager, it is a Realtek, but I have already looked at their site and can't find any suitable drivers. If I want to update via the device manager, Windows tells me that the latest driver is already installed.
