So I have a very weak laptop and mostly when I want to go to my downloads in the explorer or just want to search for a file, it loads for a long time where it says "contents of the folder are listed" and the problem is that it does not stop! That means I have to restart my laptop to find a file, but if I'm doing an important or long download or something I can't just restart it (a restart always takes 20 minutes for me._) So of course I can restart now but is it easier?
Here's a tip from me: I would install the free Cloudready operating system on my laptop. Then your laptop becomes a Chromebook. This runs extremely quickly even on old devices and boots quickly. The browser starts without delay. Here is the download: https://www.neverware.com/freedownload
You need the USB Maker and an empty formatted stick with at least 8GB. After the installation, Cloudready occupies approx. 12GB on the hard drive.
A restart takes place after the installation is complete. Then you just have to log in with your Google account. Now the "Chromebook" is ready. Then go to the settings in the Media Plugins section. There you can install proprietary codecs with just one click. Then the Widevine DRM component is also installed so that you can use e.g. Maxdome, netflix, Amazon Video etc.
In the settings you can also activate Linux (beta). Then you can install Linux programs.
Before you install Cloudready you should save all your files e.g. On an external hard drive or on Google Drive.
Sorry but i don't want to change my operating system now
Then you should reinstall Windows cleanly.
