You can do that, but how do you want to package the parcel properly in the post, so that it survives a fall from approx. 1m undamaged?
In the larger post offices there are boxes and adhesive tape to buy. But you have to pack it yourself and that is better done at home.
Don't forget to pad well. The package may fall several times from a height of 1 m on the floor or heavy boxes with 30 kg are placed on it
