The keyboard lights up and you can hear the ventilation but the screen stays black. I already have the laptop charged.
Try to give the laptop back if you still have the guarantee. Unfortunately it won't work today or wait, maybe it will work again later.
If you still have a monitor standing around, clip it on for a try. If it goes, the display has some shot. Otherwise, as already suggested: if there's still a guarantee on it, look for an exchange / repair.
I connected the laptop to the monitor and it also displayed a black image.
So it is quite possible that the graphics card got something. What kind of laptop model is that… You might have to change the output manually. Otherwise, the thing is either a warranty case or possibly defective on Ebay for a few dollars (remove hard drive beforehand).
