My PC does not recognize that an internet cable has been inserted. This is recognized immediately on the laptop. In the connections, only Bluethoot and WLAN are displayed. Vll can help someone.

Em

Is the respective network card recognized?

Ar

A cable can't be recognized at all, only the DEVICE that is connected to the PC with the cable.

Does your PC have a network card? Is it displayed in the device manager? Are the drivers installed?

Ro

Where do I see it:-)

Ro

I assume that he has a network card…

Ar

And the rest, which I just added?

Ro

There are several displayed… But all work and drivers are up to date

Em

E.g. In the device manager under network adapter

Ro

Yes there are several

Em

Which are exactly there?

Ro

Bluetooth, intel wireless, 8 x WAN miniport

Em

Hmm no e.g. Realtek Family Controller or similar?
Do you still see any device with a "yellow triangle" in Device Manager?

Ro

Ne all blue monitors before… So see no yellow triangle…

Em

Well not just under the network adapters, but generally in the device manager?

Otherwise, open the "Network Connections" (right-click on the Windows symbol). In the following window then on "Change adapter options" and then say what you see there?! You're using Windows 10, aren't you?

Ro

Okay… I'll do it right away… Had to pick something up quickly… Then I'll pass on the information

Ro

Wi-Fi and bluetooth are no longer displayed… And no yellow triangles everywhere

Em

Then your PC does not appear to have installed a network card. However, I wonder where you plugged in the Lan cable?!

Ro

Into a suitable slot… The picture at the slot looks like that of a vpn connection… Pc is an acer predator PO3 600

if that helps

Em

Yes, he actually uses a Gigabit Ethernet adapter with a normal RJ45 connection. It is strange that this adapter is neither listed in your device manager, nor in your adapter options. The drivers should also be provided by Windows without further ado. I would look again in the BIOS if you were there, if the adapter is listed somewhere. If so, install separate drivers for the Gigbabit Ethernet adapter if necessary.

Ro

Okay thanks a lot
