Sooo,
my laptop refuses to recognize headsets that are plugged in via Trr's jack, sound is played back but no input signal is displayed. The headset is not (I've already tried a few), my drivers that could have something to do with it are all up to date. For some reason it is not displayed to me, a Bluetooth "headset" is displayed and works properly.
What else can I do or try?
Check the sound settings to see whether your headset microphone is activated as an input device. If necessary, click on Troubleshoot under Input and select the appropriate source there.
Stay healthy!
This is because the headset has a different plug than the PC can use!
You surely have a socket for headphones and one for microphone on the PC (i.e. An input and an output of the sound card).
For the headset you need a https://www.amazon.de/...0881P4Y5D/ that separates these two devices (headphones and microphone) into 2 plugs.
But make sure that the jack plug / socket is 2.5 or 3.5 mm.
There's a handset and microphone socket on the PC!
If your headset only has one jack plug, you have to connect it using an appropriate adapter:
Has my laptop net, it only has one
That's my problem, the laptop only has one socket
Is this input / output, i.e. A combination for a headset?
I think so, which means it has to be a TRRS 3.5 millimeter socket, but it doesn't recognize a headset
Okay, have you read the description?
