About a year ago, I put together a PC for myself because my old laptop did not bring me the power I needed. At that time I bought a Pentium G4500 and an ASRock H110M-HDV.
Now I want to switch to an i5 7500, but I've found out that it probably. Could give problems with the bios. Since I'm not so busy with this field, I would like to ask if it still works…
A BIOS update may be necessary. It does not have to be.
The i5 needs version P7.10
Which you have installed you have to look. Either directly in the BIOS / UEFI or with the free software https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.88-en.exe.
,
But I hardly believe that the i5 brings so many benefits. I would switch to an i7 6700 or i7 7700 immediately. Of course, it's about used CPUs. Even the i5 makes no sense when buying new! For current games is definitely an i7 advisable. 8 threads help a lot, especially in games like Assassinscreed and Battlefield. For older games that are optimized for only a few cores, the i5 is also sufficient.
Addendum: The i5 brings quite a bit, I have confused the Pentium with the G4560.
All you have to do is update the BIOS to recognize the CPU.
The update you download from the manufacturer page down. There are enough tutorials on Youtube.

Hopefully you will not buy the I5 7500 again, will you?
Because 180 euro are really too much for that.
Thanks for the answer. An i7 is on my list but I still want to buy a video card and since the price is lower for many i5's i would stay with an i5.
I will not buy it again.
I hope needed? New is not worth it anymore. Since you get a Ryzen of significantly more power for less. (Then you need a new board and best (if not available) fast RAM)
Yes I will buy it second hand.
