Computer & Internet for my (old) aunt?

I'm a bit in conflict - my elderly aunt, who does not come much out of the house, now has the idea that she wants to go online. I can really understand her wish and I do not want to deprive her of that.

The problem: I should do everything. First she wanted a tablet - after I showed her mine, she now wants a laptop. Of course, I should get it. Then she has no idea how she gets internet - she wants to do online banking and thinks she can log in quite easily (without any pins or anything) and make transfers. She worked 15 years ago in a bank with a computer - but that's just 15 years ago.

She calls me (from her cellphone) and is very desperate that her phone is not working - and I find that the battery is flat or not charged. She rings when she presses something wrong on the remote. I just know now that she will call several times a week and ask for help. I help my parents and she is even older and "turns" even more awkward - because I just - well, honestly - do not feel like it.

I understand my aunt - but I just do not have the strength to worry about anything else (her online banking, the internet provider, buying a laptop & above all, how to do it all) for my aunt.

A really difficult situation - does anyone know that?

That's how you have to tell her that. Is not there someone else who could help her?

She has some good friends and she said she could call them. But I think that they will say after a while - call your granddaughter. She can explain that to you.

It is designed to teach courses where seniors are taught such a thing.

Search at community college or other providers.

I had thought of that before, but she can't really walk far anymore. It's just about to go to the little corner shop around the corner, but then somebody would have to go to such a course… She herself does not have a family, so there are my parents & me and a few friends who are already older, or have your own life & families.

Does she really need a laptop? Why does not she use her TV? Since she has a bigger picture and the operation is probably also easier. If your TV is too old for it, then she can simply plug in a FireTV stick to upgrade it to a SmartTV.

It turns that easy

in front. Once set up + everything works

like clockwork?

That's not how it is.
