I only turned it on 1 hour ago. Restarted several times and uninstalled programs that run in the background that I no longer use, where can I see the updates?

Have a look in the Task Manager:

Ctrl + Alt + Del → Task Manager, then go to the Details tab and sort the list by CPU usage

In the task manager and then in the resource manager or in general if Windows services have a high ram or cpu load e.g. 10% for just one service or so

Just open the Task Manager and watch.
