Can it take a long time?

Yes, very long. I would schedule 10 hours. Windows is a little incompatible with something like that.

It still takes… Install an SSD… I did it with our laptop, it feels 10 times faster

So when I install Win 10, I'm done in 10 minutes, it always comes down to SSD or HDD, RAM 512MB or one gigabyte or two gigabytes

But this is about updates and not about installations. They go very quickly for me, but updates always take forever. I have 16 GB of RAM and a SSD.

Can take a few hours… Depending on how "fast" your HD is.

My recommendation: SSD (have become very cheap) and maybe upgrade RAM

This turns a lame box into an acceptable device 😊
