As part of a homework assignment, I have to evaluate the data from my questionnaire. Now I already used the free trial version of SPSS in the second semester, but I need it again.
For this reason, SPSS keeps sending me a notification that I already have the trial version and so on. I don't want to buy it either, because it's too expensive.
With PSPP I have the problem that the app does not want to open on my laptop.
I doubt really slowly, because I do not know how to evaluate my questionnaire.
Do you know a solution?
Do you have another link to PSPP?
It would be really super super nice if you could help.
This is really urgent.
Borrow another email address and other computer? Or is there a student trial version from SAS?
I would contact my supervisor. It may not be that you have to evaluate a questionnaire, but do not have access to the software you need for it. We have SPSS as standard on the university computers. Your university will surely also have SPSS licenses and if you need one that shouldn't be a problem.
However, I have often evaluated questionnaires without SPSS. Of course, it depends on what exactly you want to do? But Excel is enough for most things. And for a few special things (hypothesis tests, reliability, etc.) I used JASP, it's free and can do almost everything that SPSS can do.
We're currently unable to access the computers due to the pandemic. Do you have a link to JASP so I can download it? And thank you for your answer. I was pretty desperate.
How exactly do you want to evaluate the questionnaire? Do you just want to describe descriptively how old the sample was on average, what it answered so and so on? Or just use inductive statistics with hypothesis tests?
https://jasp-stats.org/ here you can download it somewhere. Is actually very user-friendly and easy to understand, but you probably have to do a bit of research. Therefore, depending on what you want to do, just use Excel.
