So I just restarted my laptop and suddenly a blue screen came up where I could choose between "Use a device", "Troubleshoot" and "Turn off my PC".
Then I tried everything to troubleshoot it, but it did not work except for input help, so I entered notepad to see if I had everything and then went to c: and checked that everything was there anyway, but I saw that all the data from d: folder on it. When I looked at the d: folder, all the data from the c: folder was on it.
That's why the laptop most likely won't boot up.
I have attached a few pictures as proof.
Please quick help!
Hard drive out and copy back to C.
To me it looks like there was an update to Windows 10
that is incomplete.
If you can undo that, I would try.
For example, if you can start and work in Safe Mode,
Can you assign the drives differently in the computer management.
Change C to E since I reserve D for DVD and after restart,
Change D to C. This can't be done in one step.
If despite correct C and E LWe the booting does not work,
Then see if there are any other repair suggestions.
Which version of Windows?
Do you even know what you're talking about?
Before you answer stupidly I would inform myself and not slouch
apparently you didn't even read the question
Windows 10. Unfortunately I can't start Safe Mode on my laptop. Would there be another solution?
I'm sorry
If you do this on another PC, it will never make C: out of it
Yes, but C became D
so it will certainly work the other way around
Try using the Microsoft Windows Media creation Tool to make a bootable USB stick and then select it in the Boot Manager and reinstall Windows on the empty partition
Sch *** is that Windows does not start because you would have to format and create hard disks
Tip: new partition so you can keep the data
I put the media creation tool on a completely empty usb stick, only i don't know if the usb stick is boot bar
Start the PC Press the key combination to start the Boot Manager then select the stick
You can only start Safe Mode from an Install Stick or DVD.
Use Windows 10 own repair function.
Switch on the laptop and every time he wants to boot… Simply switch off at the push of a button. Repeat this until the self-repair begins.
Windows 10 installed itself in the wrong folder.
On C: the old remaining dates will still be…
Do you happen to know how to boot on a Dell G5 laptop?
I can't start Safe Mode
Windows 10 self repair says it finds something but it doesn't show an error code
So in and of itself nothing has been lost except that the content that should be in C: is in D: and vice versa
Maybe look in the BIOS
Then you can change the assignment as described above
I repeat I accept no liability and all data can be lost in the event of errors
Yes and you know how if so then please tell me
The main thing is that it works
Fine?
You can assign the drives differently in the computer management.

Takes a bit
OK
When it starts up, Windows is displayed twice, which is the new one
No it did not recognize the USB stick
The boot manager was opened right?
The media creation tool was able to create the USB stick
Yes
Also yes
Then USB boot is probably deactivated in the BIOS
Yes it can be but when I try to restore the system it says "restart the computer, select an operating system and then click on" system recovery "
Try it
I'll try that with the bios
The system recovery does not go because it would be easier if a backup is available
When reinstalling you need the product key
Do I have
Well not that you ask yourself oh not have the key because you only have it with a working Windows installation
Yes the usb stick is not recognized although the connections are in perfect shape
have completely given up hope
In your case, I would reinstall Windows.
Save all data beforehand and delete all partitions when installing.
