My Unitimedia router should emit 120 Mbits and 120 will also arrive at the router and my laptop that is 1 meter away from the router and connected via LAN also says that it receives 120. However, when I download something, I see that I have a maximum of 15 Mbits,

What can I do to get the full 120 or at least more?

Br

Did you do a speed test or download something? It also depends on the website servers how good they are

ca

Sure that 15 megabits per second and not megabytes per second are displayed on the laptop?

15 megabytes per second would correspond to exactly 120 megabits per second

Ro

You confuse mbit with mbyte.

120mbit / s what your router tells you are the 15mbyte / s that your speed test / laptop tell you.

1 byte are = 8 bits

That means 120mbit / s by 8 is 15mbyte / s

Pr

Are you sure you don't confuse mbits with MB / s?

15 mb / s is exactly 120 mbit / s

Check the displayed units. The capacity of a line is generally Specified in (mega) bit / s, the download in (mega) byte / s. Bit is often written out, byte abbreviated with a capital B.
