I'm currently between 2 options, maybe the experts could help me:-)
Option 1:
250 Mbits download
30 Mbits upload
The router is connected via cable to the television connection (?).
I would connect the router to a WLAN amplifier, and then drive it into my computer via a LAN cable about 15 meters away from the amplifier.
How much of the internet is really getting through the distance?
Option 2:
150 Mbits download
30 Mbits upload
Here the router is simply plugged into the socket and connected directly to the computer via LAN cable.
Hopefully I'll still have a full 150 Mbits ;-)
It is also worth mentioning that there are also several devices in the network.
1 mobile phone, notebook, Alexa Dot…
Both contracts are priced the same, and also from the same provider.
What would you choose and why?
Take option 1, and lay the LAN cable all the way to the router, no WLAN amplifier.
Option 2 is internet via cell towers and does not make sense in your case.
Thanks for the info, why is the 2nd option not useful?
And the other problem is that I can't / may not put a cable over this route.
Because mobile communications are the last resort when there's no house connection available, which is the case here. If router and repeater are 15m away, 250mbit should still come through.
Very well, then just work with an amplifier?
If it's only 200 Mbits then it doesn't matter, thank you in advance and best regards
That's the way it is! A repeater is even superfluous if you only need the WLAN on your PC. If you prefer a PCIE Wlan card https://www.amazon.de/...084GT36WQ/ then your PC also has Bluetooth.
