Have on my notebook Mc Afee Live Safe security on it now after 12 months it expired if I want to extend it on the notebook I should pay 31.95 euro. That's too much for me. There are other options!
Today everyone wants to have everything but pay nothing.
Cyber security is becoming more important. Everyone has a smartphone, laptop, etc. But you do not really want to protect them.
When the damage is there, the screaming is great.
Maybe you know what there's free. AntiVir e.g. Has I believe something. Otherwise I find anti-virus definitely worth it. I use Kaspersky and am very satisfied.
Of course there are other possibilities. McAfee I would have uninstalled right from the beginning, because there are better providers in my opinion and one can't really do anything with a trial.
In the free area, I would recommend you Avast, which I personally have years of good experience. There are also several paid versions, which offer a few additional features, but these are not absolutely necessary. You just have to look at the different products and decide if you can do something with the additional functions. Kaspersky is also not bad at paid anti-virus programs.
I would advise against Avira. I once had the feeling that Avira is slowing down the computer and at that time they also wanted to cheer on the Ask Toolbar. I also have the experience that there are often false positives at Avira. The Trojan Board, for example, also advises against Avira.
You can download Avast here for free: https://www.avast.com/...e-de/index
Of course, a virus scanner does not provide 100% protection. You should also keep a close eye on which pages to visit and what files to download. Also, when installing software, it is always a good idea to select the custom installation, and then remove check marks from certain offers, which can prevent the installation of additional software, adware, or the like. This will save you a lot of work to remove all the stuff.
Some swear by the Windows Defender under Windows 10. It is true that the Defender has improved significantly from the protection effect from Windows 10, but this still performs in comparison to many other AntiViren programs still worse. Sure, you do not have to rely on an anti-virus program in general, but it does not hurt to run in the background, especially if you're inexperienced, in my opinion.
If it should be free then you can z.b. Take Avast: https://www.avast.com/...s-download
Kaspersky is also available for lau: https://www.kaspersky.de/free-antivirus
Bitdefender is also available for lukewarm, but only in English: https://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/free.html?adobe_mc=MCMID%3D39636526589944608763008156192778035551%7CMCORGID%3D0E920C0F53DA9E9B0A490D45%2540AdobeOrg%7CTS%3D1551880723
If you have Windows 10 but also the integrated Windows Defender!
No matter what you do, AntiVir… Um. Avira… Would I keep my fingers off…
It is great that we can exchange our experience!
