Laptop makes noise when charging?

My "new" laptop can't be switched on (see my last question) and makes so strange noises when charging / connecting the power adapter, some quiet whirring or crackling - I don't know how to describe it…

Does anyone have any idea what that might be? And above all, can this suddenly happen, or has the problem existed for some time? Was the Läppi sold to me broken or did I make a mistake?

Could be that your power adapter from the laptop is broken.

Therefore, the noises could come and therefore it could be that your laptop no longer charges. And also does not go on. The last sign of life from your previous question could just have been some power in the battery.

To test the power supply you can go to a computer store, they often have a universal power supply with which you could test your laptop.

Maybe your battery is also broken, turn the laptop around and see if you can take it out. You can actually operate any laptop without a battery, see if it turns on.

It could be due to the power supply, but I wouldn't be so sure about that. I once screwed an HDD out of curiosity. After that it was broken and when I wanted to start the PC it came whirring. An HDD (storage disk) consists of a disc and a reader. If the reader is broken, it keeps trying to read something and always moves its arm back and forth on the disc. That's where this noise comes from.

If the noise comes from the power supply, then it is time to replace the power supply.
Better not wait until there are not only sounds but also smells.
