Can't you connect your mp3 player to the PC? Or how do you charge that?
If there's really "only" an SD card in it, I would consider if you do not want to use USB3 instead of USB2 then it's faster playing. (Looks like a Chinese replica)

I would connect the MP3 player directly via USB to the computer.
Does not work, because then the charging process is set in motion and you then can't use the player. In addition, the player has no internal memory, without card reader I get no files on the SD card.
I personally would rather go there on a reasonable MP3 player.
