Virus scan error on Google Chrome while downloading a file, what now?

My Google Chrome suddenly doesn't want to download the file to my laptop, it says "Virus scan error". I tried to install updates, even my virus program on my laptop checked for threats and found none, I even restarted the laptop. Still just this "virus scan error". What can I do?
