I replaced my MX925 with a G6050 today.
So far everything fits. The only problem: my roommate will have to scan often. I just had to realize that it is not possible to scan several pages but only one page at a time.
I was really surprised that there are still printers that scan one page each.
No problem with software to assemble the files for me.
I'm happy when my roommate finds the ON button. It is impossible to explain third-party software to her so that she can put together the PDF herself.
Do you have any ideas what I can do? Is there any simple software - foolproof, so to speak?
Addendum: There's the "Canon IJ Scan Utility". This allows multiple documents to be scanned.
Disadvantage here: After the first scan, the sheet to be scanned must be placed on the table. The new scan can only be triggered via the software. This means that you have to run to the laptop / PC after each page to trigger the next scan.
Is there an alternative here?
There are websites that do this.
Upload, sort - done.
Just google it and you will find a few pages
It is not much easier than described by the questioner - so do not think about it!
Your proposal would go like this:
Scan all pages (with the problems mentioned above!)
send to the internet address (usually not free!)
download the PDF
Since 1. Is no different than with your own printer / scanner already described above, where is the advantage?
Unfortunately, I don't know any alternative!
I use IRFANVIEW for scanning but inserting and starting is just as described.
I had the same problem with an incompetent user and with a web service he managed that while a PDF printer was impossible to use.
A PDF printer?
Windows prints the Word document as a PDF - is that a PDF printer? 🤣
If you don't know what a PDF printer is, I wonder how you became a community expert…
You can scan the pages individually (as a picture?) And combine them into a pdf file with the program "pdf24" https://www.pdf24.org/.
I categorically exclude the online solution for data protection reasons. I use PDF24 as an application myself, but it's still too high for my roommate.
I have now written my own manual for the "Canon IJ Scan Utility" and explained it personally. Now was the best solution.
Because I don't use wrong terms like you do with http://Das%20Tool%20PDFCreator%20gaukelt%20Windows%20einen%20Drucker%20vor,%20mit%20dessen%20Hilfe%20Sie%20aus%20beliebigen%20Anwendungen%20heraus%20Ihre%20Dokumente%20automatisch%20als%20PDF%20abspeichern!
What you are probably referring to is a program that creates a PDF file from other documents!
The questioner's problem is not the creation of the PDF file, but the scanning process - read it right!
Thank you for reading my question completely and answering it accordingly. Three quarters of the question-answerers did not manage this 😉
I have no idea why you have to be so aggressive.
I have chosen the term PDF printer correctly, in case you don't know: PDFs can also be printed out.
So you can take the individual PDF files and send them to a PDF printer (= print) and it then creates a single PDF from 3-4 PDF files by printing.
Wrong terms after all!
I use an inkjet printer and still know laser printers and dot matrix printers.
All of these print pictures (with you: painter printer) and Word files (with you then Word printer) and also PDFs (with you the PDF printer) etc., very strange!
Ok, so that you too understand:
A PDF printer is a virtual printer which, as a result of the "printing process", spits out a PDF which can then be saved on your computer. This is generally understood by PDF printer, I did not invent the term, it is so common.
Incidentally, PDF is a widely used file format. It is a file format that represents a "digital sheet of paper". Therefore you can also print out PDFs on real printers or on virtual PDF printers.
Basically, of course, it makes no sense to "print out" a PDF on a PDF printer because the result corresponds to the source. But if you send several PDFs to a (virtual) PDF printer then there are some of these "printers", which then create a single PDF from these many pages (from different files).
Exactly, why the tip from you!
Why such an effort for something that is only possible with imprecise expression:
https://de.wikipedia.org/...B%7D&ns0=1
At Wikipedia you can explain the "folksy" term "PDF printer", I stick to exact terms as far as I can!
But that's enough, that wasn't the questioner's problem either, as I said at the beginning!
