DSL switching from 50 MBits to 100 MBits - Telekom experience?

We have the option to switch from 50,000 to 100,000 DSL lines for a surcharge of 5-10 euro per month.

With 4 people and 4 TV sets and 3 game consoles and 5 notebooks as well as 4 cell phones and several computers, we have the problem that in the rooms where we don't have a LAN connection, the connection is really poor via WLAN if there are several people on the network at the same time are surfing.

Do you know the difference from 50 to 100 and from 10 to 40 MBits in the upload?

We have FritzBox Mesh Repeaters that can definitely process this performance. Just like our main router in the basement, a 7490.

Perhaps someone can tell me if the changeover to an existing DSL contract will cost anything and if you can get something out of it by trading with the Telekom employee or get a discount.

According to Speedtest, 100MBits DSL is available at our address.

The difference between these bandwidths is in fact present and, of course, noticeable when used sufficiently. You can measure on the router what you have as throughput with normal use.

It definitely brings something. You may only be able to trade if you consider another provider. Cancel the contract and wait and see if they react. In most cases, the price is better with other providers. In the period of notice you can look for better providers in peace.

Su

Service providers are not "better"

fa

Are exactly the same, but better in price. Possibly. Better in support (accessible)

You have just noticed where there's no country but Wi-Fi is really lean.

Main router in the basement.

Ah yes.

How fast and qualitative is the connection between the router and repeater when there are many devices in the house?

You can see that in the web interface.

If you generally notice bottlenecks on the Internet then an upgrade definitely brings something.

Lo

Definitely do you have so much equipment then I would definitely go to the Telekom shop first and see what is possible I have Magenta L without TV

Ga

Given the number of devices, I would definitely recommend a bandwidth upgrade.

The crucial question, however, is where the bottleneck is located. Is it really in the bandwidth or in the local network? Because especially with wireless connections, external interference factors are very influential. But with a functioning mesh network, it should be pretty stable.
