HDMI connection from laptop to TV?

Have in our apartment a great TV, which has a HDMI connection. I imagined, if you have the appropriate connection cable, that then a connection to the TV is easily possible. Does not work.

What am I doing wrong?

This works fine if the laptop has an HDMI output. Then on the TV nor the corresponding HDMI channel used as a source and off you go.

You should press Windows and T, then select on the opening window 2 screens, so that your laptop knows that he should build the 2nd connection.

If you now tell the TV which source to drive, it should be "light" on both screens.

It is shown in the TV only a small part. Most of the screen surface remains black…

You have to set the format on TV. Read this the best in the instructions for use of the TV.

As far as I've read this out now, the problem is this:

The television is the image of the laptop displayed only not in the desired size. For me, I can adjust the s.TV, which is different for each brand but something similar it should work for you. On the remote control, press the menu button, there change to the sub-item Picture, there you can under the item HDMI mode, PC "select, then it should fit.

Unfortunately, not because I'm in a holiday apartment.
