I recently wanted to uninstall the anti-virus program McAfee to make space on my laptop. This did not work in the beginning, instead, the message "Do you want to allow the following program (McAfee) to make changes on your computer" came up daily. If I clicked yes, but nothing happened and the message came back after a short time. Yesterday I then installed and tried a RemoveTool from McAfee. At the end there came the message that possibly not all files were removed correctly. Now (one day later) I always get the message: "C: \ Program Files \ McAfee Security Scan \ uninstall.exe" could not be found. Make sure you entered the name correctly and try again.
What can I do now that I can't get these messages and can finally remove the program?
It is already partially removed. You could navigate to the file path and then use cmd (admin) to delete the files. With CCleaner remove McAfee from the autostart, if it is still in it.
For mcaffee there's a separate "remover".
