I work as a teacher and am currently teaching online from home. It worked well so far, but now my screen always flickers black when I video chat. I've already tried Skype and Zoom, but it's the same for both. Otherwise my laptop runs perfectly.
Does anyone know why that is?
Maybe your CAM has a thing gone.
My students don't see the flickering, then it can't be the camera, right?
You're probably right… Then maybe your driver software.
Is this also when the power supply is connected?
Have you already restarted your laptop? - Ie: Select "Restart" in the switch-off menu.
What is it like when you watch a video, e.g. B. From https://www.tagesschau.de/, or from Youtube?
Or open the "Camera" app (in the start menu)> Record a video> What is the result?
Yes, I've had the problem for several weeks and that's why my laptop has been turned off and on many times. When I watch videos or make a video recording everything is normal. It's really only in the video chats.
I'm a little desperate, so my eyes get incredibly tired while teaching…: /
The menu item "Shutdown" or the on / off button is generally used to switch the device on and off in the selection menu. - It has nothing to do with a restart.
Without going into details, since Win8 restarting a laptop / PC is something completely different. - To do this, select "Restart" in the switch-off menu.
In theory, a new Skype installation could also help.
