Microsoft OneNote on tablet?

Because of homeschooling etc. I recently started using OneNote on my Samsung Galaxy Tab s5e. But I noticed that all my friends who have a school Ipad have a lot more functions here, e.g. A ruler, etc. In the next school year I would also like to use a tablet at school, but then of course with the OneNote that everyone else has. So why doesn't this work with my tablet? Is that because it's not from Apple? Or do I have to take out a subscription etc somewhere so that I have the "full version"? If so, where and how much does it cost (but I don't want a Microsoft 356, I already have it on my laptop, I only need OneNote for the tablet)?

You can log in to your Microsoft account on the tablet where you have 365. This can be used on up to 5 devices. It will be your tablet, which is probably quite old. OneNote is from Microsoft.

The version for Android is very slimmed down.

The one on the iPad also has fewer functions than the "original".

If you are toying with the idea of buying a new device, I recommend a Surface. I also use this in school. The version for this also contains most of the functions.

I use a convertible with Android operating system. Android even has more to offer than meets the eye. I not only use One Note, but also drawing programs and 3D construction programs that communicate with Windoof.

Thank you, there are also rulers etc, because that's what I miss most now

I don't know if that works because the Microsoft programs were already included with my new laptop, so I didn't have to take out the subscription

Yo. I'm in high school Q12 and have been working with a Surface and OneNote in school for 2 years. Before that, a year with the iPad. I think the Surface is better in that regard. LG

There are various reasons why the OneNote interface may look different on you than on other tablets (I'm speculating because I don't use Microsoft products:

the settings: You may have to activate the ruler in the settings.

the version: You may have an older version of the app on your Galaxy that did not have a ruler. Or you do not have the full version of the app and therefore the app is not fully available to you.

the operating system: the interface is not the same on different operating systems. However, the fact that OneNote is not an app for iOS (Apple) speaks against it. If the ruler is available on the iPads (Apple product), it should be on other operating systems as well.

If you have already bought Microsoft 356 and installed it on another computer, you have to see how many devices you can use the software on. If that's not limited to one device, you can choose which apps you want to use on which devices. In the case of multiple device use, this logically does not cost anything extra.

Then log in to your Microsoft account and check it. Perhaps - without knowing it - you bought Microsoft 365 with the purchase of the laptop for a year. "365" means nothing else than that you can use the software for one year (365 days).
Or the use is software is limited to an even shorter period and you will be asked to purchase after this period. It was always like that in the past, before the idea of subscriptions came up.

What still occurred to me: There are different versions of MS Office that exist in parallel, both for private users and for companies. The features of the individual apps differ accordingly.

OneNote for Android, iOS / iPadOS and Windows are different programs. The Windows version of OneNote has more functions than e.g. The Android app. I don't know what the iOS version looks like.

Do your friends also use Microsoft OneNote? I think that they tend to use other apps like GoodNotes5 or Notability. These are only available for iOS and have a wide range of functions.

In addition to the software, the Tab S5e in particular is not intended for handwritten notes because it does not support the S-Pen from Samsung.
