Got a new laptop for Christmas and a USB cable directly to transfer the data to the new laptop. Now I've connected the cable, but how do I do it now? How do I get the data on the new one now?

Do it via a cloud or take a USB stick / mobile phone

Ka whether there's a connection at all between 2 PCs with USB cables

You will hardly be able to establish a direct usb connection between two single devices, because that does not work. There's no connection from USB-A to USB-A.

if you want to transfer data from the old to a new computer, use a usb stick or an even larger storage medium, e.g. An external hard drive.

or use a "crossover" LAN cable, with it you can establish a peer-to-peer LAN connection between two computers.

For 'documents' and pictures, videos… In my opinion, you can do this via Windows Explorer using the 'drag and drop' method, i.e. Mark and drag it to the appropriate folder on the new PC.
Software programs must be reloaded on the new device.

When you have connected L-ALT to L-NEU with a cable, you have to switch on both devices. The ALTE device appears as LW on your new lap. Now you open L-ALT, copy your data from L-ALT to the clipboard and from out there on your new laptop.

Oh what, that doesn't work? Then I take my USB stick.

If you take a look at the usb cable (with both ends) and then at the usb ports on the laptops, you know.

I would like to see the USB cable, which could connect two laptops… 😎

USB stick or disk is the best method.
