Use microphone from music system?
I need a microphone and have now taken that from my music system (of course I also connected it) I wanted to try it out but 1. The laptop does not recognize it at all and 2. Accordingly, it does not transmit any sound.
My question: is that possible and if so how?
Can you name the microphone or the music system more precisely? What cable did you use to connect the microphone?
So the microphone is from Medion and the music system as well and the plug from the microphone is a 6.3 mm connection and then converted it to 3.5 mm with a converter
I know that Medion is not the best brand now
How many contacts does the micro connector have and how many does the adapter have? Does your laptop have separate jacks for microphone and line-out / headphones or only one?
So the laptop has only one socket / The adapter and the microphone both have 1 contact
See if you can get an adapter from your mono plug to "CTIA" assignment. Then the microphone signal should also be present at the corresponding contact on the socket.
