Videos are only displayed as an image?

I recently downloaded videos from my mobile phone to my laptop, but in the gallery of the laptop I only see photos with excerpts of the video. Unfortunately my cell phone broke yesterday so I can't look in the trash. Could you help me as memories are stored on these videos. PS i have microsoft

Right click on the video> Properties> for "Open with" just use another start option such as "Movies & TV" or "Windows Media Player"
