I have two microphones connected to my laptop at the same time. Once a USB microphone and once a normal one with a jack plug. Now I wanted to ask how you can manage in Audacity that both are recorded at the same time (on different tracks).
Can someone help me quickly?
You would need a "multi-track recorder" and should be able to assign the two to one track each.
I'm afraid it won't work that way. As far as I know, you can only register ONE sound source in Audacity, either USB OR the sound card. But you can create a multi-track project and record the tracks one after the other, that should work, but is probably not what you want. Greeting
This is exactly how it works with Audacity.
If you have a USB audio interface with several microphone amplifiers, you can record 2 tracks in parallel if that is your goal.
This doesn't work natively in Audacity, but you could try Voicemeter (Banana or Potato version)! This allows you to mix two inputs into one output. In theory, you can record immediately, but that's up to you.
You can find it here: https://vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/banana.htm
