What would happen?

When you say at the beginning of the pandemic that you are poor and have no financial means and that you can't use a stable internet connection or a cell phone or laptop. What if a family is really poor and the children can't attend online classes? Would you help them and who would help?

Of course you get an Iphone 12 and a gaming laptop for free, plus a 1000 Euro Steam credit.

You can also buy a cheap, used 100 Euro tablet or laptop for homeschooling, or ask in the social department store. If you are otherwise so very poor, the job center is responsible for you.

Nevertheless, I have to ask the question who is still so incredibly poor today that he has neither a cell phone nor a laptop. There are also very cheap second-hand devices for home teaching.

Would you help them?

Not in Germany.

and who will help there?

Usually the father-state has the task of eliminating such inequalities. But the Chancellor simply doesn't care how people are doing. Even when the aid programs for schoolchildren and students about the opening of the Bafög were being discussed in the Bundestag, Merkel strictly rejected any aid. She does not mind. The main thing is that the large companies in the economy are up and running.

I just ask I'm not so fully equipped. Was a general question because I was interested

I think you've been here in the system for too long today…

How so? For a used laptop that can handle office and internet, you can get there with 100-150 euro. You can pay that in installments if necessary, or get an advance payment from the office. There are so many options. It should be clear that a poor person can't afford a 1000 euro laptop.

But the situation postulated by the thread creator of a practically "homeless" (and even they often have smartphones, even if they are cheap) is quite strange.

To put it very harshly: Anyone who is in such a situation has to save the money, not a daily pack of butts, or McDonalds or the like.
