Yesterday my father and I had an argument and this morning I go to the PC (the PC was a gift from my father to me and my siblings for games) and want to play a game and it is locked. All other games are also blocked. Then I go to my laptop on which I only have one game, since I only use it for work / school. Do you think it's okay that my father, even though I'm of legal age, locks everything on my laptop and my siblings' PC?
* ps i'm 18 years old
I don't think that's OK at all, especially when you're of legal age. Why does your father have access to the pc? Maybe you will find a way to uninstall the software.
If he has bought it or it belongs to him, then he is allowed to do so.
if he gave it to you, it is not because it is your property. If your siblings are under 18, he can block it for them, but as soon as you get in touch with him, he has to unblock it.
He is not allowed to do anything with the laptop without your permission, since it is yours and you also use it for work / school
You are 18 years old and it is your private property if he gave it to you you shouldn't tell your parents about your password…
Yes and no. So when it is clear that it is your laptop and that of your siblings and not that of your father, then it's a matter of fact: In principle, you live with him and you still have to adhere to certain rules.
But blocking everything is a bit of an exaggeration…
I would call your siblings together and then talk to the father.
Otherwise you start the laptop in safe mode and remove the backup.
That is anything but clear. First, you are of legal age. Second, you need the thing for work and or training!
have a clarifying conversation!
Oops how does that work?
He gave me the laptop a year ago and that on the PC is not that bad but the one with the laptop annoys me
Since you are of legal age and he gave you the laptop, he is not allowed to do anything with it without permission, i.e. Not lock the laptop
I don't have it, but he always has access to my mobile phone, my laport PC he can go anywhere when he wants
Yes i thought, thank you for your answer. Unfortunately he doesn't care, he says then I should sue him
Yes stupid something. You can therefore go to the police and he can get a fine. But don't know if you want that
I think I would feel uncomfortable with, I hope he'll calm down again in the next few days
