1MB instead of 1000MB?

I wanted to download a large file (46GB) today and therefore did not want to use Wi-Fi.

So I plugged the laptop into the LAN cable and got a lot out of it: Instead of the 1000MB that the cable, router, etc. Should do, it only came to a maximum of 1.5MB.

I then tested in the WLAN and there I sometimes even had 3MB!

I use a Fritzbox router and the supplied cable.

So what could be the reason that the internet is so slow?

It depends on your internet line. Deciding is how fast your provider indicates and not what the rooter or the cable can do

First of all I doubt that you have a 1GB / s line…

It depends on your contract? Just because a cable and router could deliver so much doesn't it mean they do too?

I can't explain that LAN should be slower, unless there's a delimiter or the network card does not do so much (which would be extremely strange).

Either your laptop started a new attempt at the server after pulling the LAN connection and thereby got a faster connection, or your network card on the laptop has to be updated.

But the 1 GBit / s are only the technical specification of the cable, not the expected speed.

And where do you download that? Cough… 😄

Has your premium expired what? Do a speed test on speedtest.net.

I'm assuming that only the actual download runs so slowly.
