Connect laptop to TV via Wi-Fi?

I hope I can still find quick help.

I wanted to have a look with my boyfriend but on the laptop it is too confusing, then we tried to establish a connection via WLAN, which also worked. Now the laptop is connected to the tv but the laptop now says that the TV is offline even though it is connected to the WLAN?! Does anyone know anything about it?

Wi-Fi connection alone is not enough. Just because the two can see each other, nothing can be played. But if both are in the same network, you can access each other.

what do you want to see Something in the browser? Then take chrome and go to chromecast. Then you can usually put the picture on the tv.

if n film is time to play with vlc. You can then stream it over the network from the notebook to the tv. So far I've only managed to do it once. Possibly help google there
