Legally you are allowed to work only 8h, or at most 10h per day. And a total of no more than 48h per week.
I'm currently applying for a (unfortunately not so well paid) job with sentry, where you can do any things on the laptop besides. As a freelancer I often had small design assignments (which are not sufficient as a livelihood), I wonder now if I should work part-time in this activity more than 8h / week, if I do it during the main job.
Example:
I work in the main job 8 hours a day from 8 am to 4 pm (simply accepted). Meanwhile, I work on the laptop as a part-time freelancer from 9 clock to 15 clock = 6h. Did not actually spend hours on the day, but earn 6h a day extra money.
Proof of when the part-time freelancer activity was made is difficult to provide. I could use a work-time tacking tool (like Trello), but if that's legal?
What do you all mean? ^^
Does your employer agree with that?
1 hour of work is 1 hour of work, no matter how you do it.
As a freelancer, you are not subject to the working time law
You have to concentrate on what you are set for during working hours. Jobs must have no negative impact on other jobs, both during and outside working hours.
Thanks, I did not know yet that it does not apply to freelances.
I do not know if he agrees, because I first applied. But the info came from a friend who already works there.
So from a friend who works there, I know that it is probably allowed to work on the laptop privately. Of course you have to come to the customer first when "customers" come.
Unfortunately wrong, in the following article is that you can work as a part-time freelancer only 8h / week
https://www.selbstaendig-im-netz.de/selbstaendig/nebenberuflich-selbstaendig-8-tipps-die-du-unbedingt-beachten-muss/
"your regular weekly working hours do not exceed" normal working hours "(main occupation) by more than 20%"
This does not apply to working time as such, but to the definition of 'part-time' which has an impact on social security contributions. There are (working time) limits set. Read again.
So from a friend who works there, I know that it is probably allowed to work on the laptop privately.
Since I would question whether this acquaintance is not "simply made" with "is allowed" confused. Also, please keep in mind that your request goes beyond private use.
If you mean a job in the security industry with sentries, that's possible. You'll often find jobs that include standby time of 50% every hour. Of course, you can do something else this time, just not walk away.
