Monitor stays black?

Hope you can help me. I've never had problems with the monitor, but suddenly it went black and nothing is displayed. The monitor is on and all cables are properly connected. Usually the monitor comes on straight away when I close the laptop, but nothing happens. How can I solve the problem?

Go to the display settings and see if everything is set and the monitor is recognized correctly.

At the bottom right there are the notifications, there you can also select the modes via the quick handle under Display and set the modes to extended or double display.
