About three weeks ago I sold a laptop for around 500 euro on eBay. The laptop went to France insured with DHL.
One day after the laptop got to the buyer according to the tracking system, the buyer claimed that he had not received the package.
Now eBay wanted to have proof of delivery from me within three days. However, because I had no access to my laptop due to the corona, I only read this email yesterday.
In the meantime I have lodged an objection and wonder how I should proceed now.
According to German law, I shouldn't have to have anything to do with it anymore, because I've already sent the article.
I've now put in an investigation and placed a theft charge.
Can I get a proof of delivery somehow? As far as I know, you can only get it if you send it by express.
You got a receipt from the post office. This serves as proof. Hopefully you still have them. Nothing more can be done from your side. You sent the package properly.
If you sent it as a parcel, you have received a tracking number for shipment tracking. You have received proof of the shipment.
Enter the DHL shipment number and it is there online.
What does it say
Sure it's eBay and not PayPal, wanting proof of delivery?
If there's a conflict, assign the DHL shipment number.
You can forget the ad, they will not be investigated by the French authorities to FRA for proof of delivery. That will be discontinued.
PS:
Why do you voluntarily sell something for 500 euro to France and then also via PayPal?
You have the delivery confirmation according to your own description? Simply forward them to Ebay.
Why did you appeal? You will have sent something insured in the price range, so there's a clearly assignable receipt. With this you can prove that it was sent and even arrived.
If the tracking number shows that it has not arrived, you have legal claims against DHL.
Where does PayPal say something?
Sure it's eBay and not PayPal, wanting proof of delivery?
Why should eBay want proof? He then has the money in his bank account, eBay can't do anything about it anyway.
Proof of delivery and shipping is only required if payment was made via PayPal, as buyer protection.
Where does PayPal say something?
In the day.
And besides, eBay doesn't want proof of delivery, but PayPal.
Is next to it as a day
I appealed because eBay ruled the case in favor of the buyer. According to the shipment tracking, the package arrived at the buyer.
According to ebay, the shipment number is not sufficient because the address is not fully visible there.
Ebay asks you to prove that. Why don't you just do this
