Ebay Classified Ads Trustworthy?

I just want to find a laptop on Ebay classifieds and found it for 715 euro. The seller has been around for almost 6 years and has already made 61 sales. He said that he doesn't want to make a secure payment via Ebay because he has been cheated on it too often and people withdrew the money after the package arrived. He only wants to do it by transfer should I go into it or is it too unsafe?
