Play TKKG game on windows 10?

I have a TKK computer game, "TKKG 5: Betrayal of TKKG" to be precise, that I would like to play again.

Unfortunately, I only have laptops with Windows 10 available and the game can no longer be installed there. Even using the compatibility mode, I was unable to install the game.

On Windows 7 there was another trick to get the old TKKG games to work, namely by renaming an EX file of the games to EXE and then double-clicking on the new file. Then the game started without having been installed. Unfortunately, this trick no longer works on Windows 10.

Now my question is whether anyone knows a method with which you can get the TKKG game to run on Windows 10.

I thank you in advance!

Oh, that's an old "darling".

Have you ever tried a "virtual machine" (VM ware)?

Windows 95/98 should now be available for download on the Internet, almost as a gift, in order to be able to install and run it within a virtual environment.

No, I haven't tried a virtual machine yet, so thanks for the tip, I'll have a look at this 👍

Br

Hasn't it been a success with VT yet?

Or are you now having problems setting up a virtual environment correctly?

Da

I don't have any problems, it's just a lot of work. I just wanted to ask the question again today because it is a more favorable time than during the week and maybe someone can actually find a simple trick for Windows 10, if there's one, to get the game to start.
Of course, your solution is also good

The bottom line is that many "old-fashioned games" iwo will come down to this, as e.g. Win 95/98 / SE still use 16-bit "DOS" in the kernel compatibility.

Microsoft has abolished this more and more with XP via Vista / 7/8 to Windows 10, as well as saving corresponding Windows on-board resources.

With my query, I actually only wanted to know whether and what you had tried so far.

If there are no specific follow-up patches for this game under Win 10, no one will be able to recommend anything else to you.

Except possibly a multiboot, but then you can't use the Windows boot manager in the process from new to old. Then there's the question of drivers from new hardware to an ancient operating system.

Maybe a member of the user community still has a solution for this game if my third option of buying an old book for a few euro would be no alternative to VT for TKKG.
