I have on the phone or laptop 3-5 Word / Exel files that I need almost every day and often update.
How is it possible to save it, if cell phone or laptop breaks down and I can't get it anymore? USB stick would go so, but I would then save almost every day there again
Connect both devices to a cloud.
Use Google Drive, DropBox, OneDrive or something like that. On both devices and online always the same current version and online is the backup, a device should be broken once…
How does that work roughly? Are yes on the phone and laptop in each case the same files… Does that mean I update on the phone and the laptop is automatically with?

can only I see this under my account with password?
As already mentioned you could use a cloud service.
For example, Google Drive / Docs / Sheets would be worth your while.
Once you've uploaded the files to Google Drive, you can edit and save them there, with the loss of data as well as impossible. Another advantage is that there's a Docs and Spreadsheets App by Google. Means you can work on your documents from any device and they sync automatically. All you need is an internet connection. On top of that comes the services Free.
If the solution is appealing to you and you have trouble setting it up, I'm happy to help. Just write a comment. I use this almost daily.

Yes, the software (for example GoogleDrive) is installed on the PC. This will be assigned a folder. Everything in the folder will automatically sync online with GoogleDrive. Is now by the phone, the file on the Internet newer, which is then loaded on the PC and replaced, is worked on the PC and stored, then automatically stored on the Internet on Drive and replaced there. Only the person who has been released has access. If there's no release, then no one comes on it except you with your access data…
That I download Google Drive as an app and down the laptop… But I only have Open Office on the laptop and my mobile phone word. Does that work then, or do I have to write or save the documents in Google Drive myself?
Word and OpenOffice are not always best friends because the formatting is different. The best would be the same. Evt helps to write directly to GoogleDocs, so everything stays compatible. On the PC in the browser and on the phone then in the app. So far I have not used that yet. Make only picture exchange, etc. About it… But basically it is enough if it is in the folder. If the formatting does not cause any problems, nothing stands in the way…
You can do that on the cloud and download the file down-to-date every time. Also high after work. You can access the cloud from virtually any device. For example the gmx cloud. You charge the phone after work is done. On the laptop there was an app directly to the Media Center (predecessor of the cloud). Or you log in from the laptop and download the file, work with it and upload it again. The cloud is integrated into the gmx free mailbox.
