I would like to buy a new laptop soon and would like to know what kind of technical specifications it should have these days… I don't intend to play a lot on it, but it should just be fast and with video / image editing programs, extensive surfing and multitasking and so on getting along well.
That depends on what you plan to do or what your wallet says about it!
Any commercially available laptop is sufficient for simple office applications. But if you are talking about video, image editing and multitasking, you need a little better equipment. A decent processor (AMD Ryzen or Intel Core 7, latest generation) would be appropriate if your videos are to be processed smoothly and quickly. The larger the RAM - the faster the work pace and the performance. In such a device, the graphics card is automatically dimensioned accordingly.
However, such a computer also costs "good money"! As a guideline: the larger the processor and RAM, the faster the work, but the higher the acquisition costs!
