I bought a laptop at the end of September that was partly defective and three attempts were made to improve it. I resigned from the sales contract and sent back one of the laptops, but I still have one with me and I haven't heard from the company for 3 weeks.
Now I wonder if it is illegal to keep it.

You must have the device available for collection. And you are not allowed to use it either.
After 3 weeks, you can in no way assume that you can keep the device.
Think about it, you have something and you already know that it shouldn't be like that.
